User Interface Design
Hello! My name is Sandra Waihuini.
I am originally from Nairobi, Kenya but I currently reside in New York City. I recently graduated from Parsons The New School For Design where I was pursuing a minor in Gender Studies and a masters in Design Studies. This multidisciplinary approach has nuanced my understanding of gendered poverty experiences and the inequitable distribution of financial resources, and access to financial technology systems. The Design Studies MA academic discipline has equipped me to use design thinking to analyze design needs.
Through my understanding of user experience principles, background in visual design, I hope to design financial systems that disrupt the market and help people from different backgrounds to make progress with their financial goals. I believe that I am where I am now because of the convergence of multiple disciplines. When I am not focussing on brushing up on my design knowledge, I can be found doing yoga, tea tasting, volunteering at a homeless shelter or jewellery making.
