I began my research with a competitive analysis. I conducted in person interviews with indigent individuals and families that receive food from the coalition of the homeless in NYC, volunteers, restaurant owners and organizations that donate to the intended clients. I created personas which helped to personalize insights gathered during the research process. I created a prioritized product roadmap to define which features were top priority, and which ones would be added later. I created a user flow, application maps to determine how users would move through the product to accomplish their goals.
Donors: businesses who participate in donating food with a focus on restaurants.
Organizations: those who will distribute food to families.
Volunteers: individuals who would like to donate their time to helping organizations as well as donors. This could entail picking up food from donors and deliver them to the organization.
UI Design & Branding
I designed the branding and UI for the mobile application. In order to help a community effectively groups of people need to come together with the resources they can bring to the table. The circular motif represents wholeness, completeness, coming together, the table we commune on, as well as the plate we eat from. The hands represents the coming together of many people to accomplish the goal of helping those in need. The spoon represents the main focus that is food. The spoon is also the main and often the only eating tool given to use for feeding the less fortunate.
